About us
Turtle Productions

The founder
Turtle Productions was founded by Mark Hennell back in 2001. Starting out as a sole trader, the business soon grew through its ability to listen to and deliver what the customer wanted, at the right price and time. Today, eight years later, we've evolved into a Limited company operating from two bases with five employees covering a region from Cheltenham to Yeovil and Newport to the M25.

The Turtle
The original company Turtle stays with us to this day on the website whilst the new corporate logo is seen in our advertising, transport fleet and forms the backdrop to the website. He was created by a friend of the family as part of a mural displayed at a surprise 21st birthday for Mark. Having passed through Scouting and completing the Ten Tors expedition as a teenager, the nickname of Turtle was given to Mark as, for any readers that have an interest in mountaineering will know, as a teenager you'll carry everything on your back which (back then) was in the old fashioned metal framed rucsacs. A best friend at the time exclaimed one day that all he could see was my bag, head, arms and legs - hence "Turtle" was born.

The staff

Over the years, we have steadily built on our success and now employ 5 staff (and a wife, son and baby daughter!). Matt is our Bristol Landscape Manager who has been with the company since 2003. Steve and Dan assist Matt and make up the Bristol team. Ryan heads up our Gloucestershire arm of the business and once the recession is over we look forward to recruiting an assistant for his team. Mark works either with Ryan or Matt's team or occasionally tackles projects on his own or responds to pond emergencies. Jane is the unpaid wife that is here to keep Mark on track whilst James, our (now) seven year old son, comes out on school holidays or weekend quotes where a child's perspective is required! He then haggles for a daily wage! You'll find a variety of our mug-shots on the portfolio page.

The future
We seem to be beating the recession and further growth is hoped for in 2009. We're part of the Guild of Master Craftsman and the Federation of Small Businesses and we aim to retain our attention to detail, quality of work, customer care and reputation; continuing to build the business on these excellent foundations.

We strive to be the best and look forward to the possibility of working for you soon.
