Where fashion currently dictates, grass is as un-fashionable as the kipper tie! All forms of media are encouraging homeowners to rip up the lawn and replace it with either a deck, patio or gravel. Whilst we subscribe to decks and patios, we unfortunately do not subscribe to that form of thinking, firmly believing that the lawn should remain King in the garden. There's something about being able to relax on it, walking barefoot ….
As such, we lay, maintain, repair and extend lawns, only occasionally ripping them up where the client demands. In laying our lawns, we always use top quality turf rolls from our preferred supplier, Bishopsworth Turf and, by preference, lay them on a fine screed of topsoil directly on top of the old lawn. Not only is this extremely cost effective, but the new screed of topsoil provides a layer of much needed nourishment for the new lawn to knit into. Through regular watering of a new lawn plus the use of any proprietary weed 'n' feed brand, lawns are knitting and needing their first cut within 2 - 3 weeks.
