From 2007

Our client had just purchased this stunning barn conversion in the heart of the Cotswolds and contracted us in to restore the pond. The size of the pond dictated the need for a 20-tonne long-arm digger; a small achievement in itself getting it onto site!

Day one saw us drain the existing pond down, saving re-usable plants like lilies, Iris and reed and grass clumps whilst day two saw the main work undertaken. Firstly the pond was scraped clear and dumper'd lower down the field before two 16-tonne loads of sand were tipped, levelled and raked. A 330 kg liner was then rolled out and stretched into place before we started filling from saved water and pumping via a local brook.

Finishing touches involved returning the plants and edging in the liner of the pond. Two weeks later the pond had filled and we look forward to re-photographing the pond, possibly with a deck and jetty, sometime over the next year as it matures.
