We were engaged by this client to convert an old vegetable garden into a large pond with outdoor seating area. The garden sloped reasonably which, coupled with the size of the pond meant that some major embankments had to be created. The pond was designed that, when viewed from the house, the shape would lead the eye through the garden. To this end, we designed the pond with the deck wrapping around its foreshore, forming two elements of a larger oval shape.

An operated mini-digger created the pond which was then built to our traditional recipe. The size of filtration needed couldn't be placed under the deck as first hoped so it was set off out of site behind shrubbery. The deck was built so as to step off the lawn onto the deck, allowing the clients to wander down and relax of an evening. We look forward to future annual services, seeing how the pond and its surrounds mature over time.
