We were engaged by clients on the edge of Wiltshire to enlarge their existing pond. The current pond was beautifully picturesque by anyone's standards yet was shallow and too small; consequently it created more problems than it was worth. Our solution was to enlarge and simplify the pond to fit within the existing lawn area.

The clients aim was to keep the pond wildlife friendly as they had many visitors to the pool; birds, foxes etc. We excavated the existing concrete lined pond and created a new 2' deep pool with an inner concrete ledge. The ledge retained the cobbles, pebbles and edging stone from falling in as well as doubling as a maintenance shelf (when stood on in wellies).

A new pump and UVC filter supplied a small waterfall with large spill stone (for birds to bathe on) whilst minimalist aquatic and other planting added colour and balance.
