From 2005

We were referred from our 'Groundforce deck' client to tackle an interesting project. The clients had commanding views down the Avon Gorge which they wished to enjoy so we were asked to convert an old greenhouse base at the top of a 100 foot cliff into a deck. Safety was a key issue here.

Due to the age and crumbling nature of the location, we designed the structure to transfer the weight of the deck down through the ground rather than using the wall for support. A double rafter system was therefore constructed and concreted in. The handrail posts were clamped into these rafters ensuring a structurally sound construction.

Full deckboards eliminated joins and a shed was constructed and sited at the end of the deck for furniture storage. Steps led up to the deck whilst 'modern' spindles fitted into the balustrade complimented the simple yet elegant design of the deck.
