From 2006

This original garden was laid to crazy paved concrete with a large concrete pond in the middle. It took over a day to remove this material with a mini-digger and, whilst lifting the pond, found it had been cemented around a clay waste soil pipe. This pipe was quickly replaced allowing us to install the bespoke decking and sleeper plant beds around a new lawn.

A small breakfast pergola and deck was built to benefit from the morning sun whilst a higher evening deck was located at the other end of the garden. All the decking was then laid and the turf installed before our trump card for this project: a birds' nest play deck for the clients twins.

To assist us with the construction of this play deck, we bought James down (now age 5) to help us with the spacing, steps, useability etc of the deck before it was handed over to the client. Nominal low voltage lighting completed the transformation of this garden.
