From 2006

The tail end of a mammoth extension project saw us installing a twin level deck. A new rear door stepped out four feet into the air so a new, raised deck with maximised under-deck storage had to be installed, large enough for comfortable entertaining. The deck was built from a pre-fixed joist hanger ledger board bolted to the house with the minimum number of support posts as possible. Our design and strength of materials provided a clear span underneath the deck.

Steps led down to a lower eating deck which also provided access to the under-deck storage area. A few more steps led down to the basement room/garden level.

To match the balcony built during the extension, we used new 'Richard Burbage' handrail systems for the upper deck and handrails down the steps. Whilst expensive, they add style and exclusivity to this deck.
