From 2004

As you can see from these pictures, the client's front garden was 8' below ground level, serving a basement. An old, 60's style concrete ramp took you from the pavement to front door and it was time to modernise.

Due to the tight confines of space we had to build this platform using step ladders and a lot of care rather than a mobile platform. The carcass was made using planed deckjoists and was held together with galvanised joist hangers, nails and coach bolts.

The decking was fixed at an angle to make the area look larger than it was and the steps to the front door followed the line of the porch roof to the door. Finally, the client ordered in and built his own brushed steel safety railings along the edge of the deck. The results speak for themselves!
