From 2006

This deck had reached the end of its life. It was rotting, dangerous and too small for modern day living! Our clients contracted us to replace and extend the deck, choosing a hardwood deck board to minimise maintenance.

We were fortunate that the old deck came out better than expected and was recycled into firewood. Pre-joist hanger'd ledger boards were then bolted to the house and new 4" deck posts were installed onto an outer 6" x 2" deck joist framework. The carcassing timbers were then inserted and nailed into place before the hardwood deck boards were pre-drilled and screwed down. The softwood handrail system was then built together with the steps leading down to the garden.

Finally, 26 LED deck lights were installed at and between each post with the wires carefully tacked and hidden on the underside of the deck.
