From 2006

These clients had recently renovated their house with superb taste and it was time to turn attention to the garden. They wanted a decking area with the prospect of installing a hot-tub in 2007.

Having talked through several options and showing sample materials, a hardwood deck was chosen. Due to the minimal depth of ground below the door-steps to work from, we built the deck on 2" x 2" timbers (due to the nature of the firm ground), levelling and spacing the deck on timber spacers to ensure the correct levels and falls.

The client dug the hot-tub base (retaining an existing concreted base) and we poured 3.3 cu.m. of concrete which gave him maximum flexibility on the hot-tubs' future location - anywhere in a 12' x 8' area on the deck. Fence panels provide privacy and we look forward to returning in 2007 to extend the deck.
