Reminiscent of a Grand Designs property, we were asked to deck the entire rear face of this property with a hardwood or Cedar deck.
We recommended hardwood due to its' grooved nature, ease of maintenance and ease of procurement. Cedar has a habit of fading into a silvery colour and requires much annual maintenance to keep it looking and feeling good.
The deck was laid on a softwood carcass - a large amount of which was laid straight onto an existing patio. We used off-cuts of roofing slate to separate the softwood carcass from the ground to ensure it remained dry and free-draining.
Upon completion of the deck, stainless steel LED deck lights were installed, totally transforming the area at night. An excellent project aided by superb clients.
