Like our last example in 2004, we were requested back following an earlier example of our work to undertake further garden improvements for this client. Our task this time was to lift the existing block paved area and other paving and relay it all to block paving.
Our first priority was to lift the existing paving and block pavers. The old paving was stacked for future use or disposal whilst the old pavers were cleaned and stacked ready for re-use. The new pavers were set out ready for use whilst the area to be paved was laid with a ballast mix, sharp sand on top and then compacted using a vibration plate.
The outer edges of the new paving were set in concrete and the in-fill paving was installed. Finally, kiln dried sand was brushed over the paving and compacted again. The mixture of brindle pavers old and new gave a unique, random feel to the paving.
