The original lawn was becoming too much trouble (click me to enlarge) ... so it had to go! (click me to enlarge)
The lawns were sliced off and introduced to a skip for removal (click me to enlarge) Three tonne of South Cerney chippings later, and the holes are filled! (click me to enlarge)
Our favourite Terracotta rock edges the garden ... (click me to enlarge) ... and due to the size and sharp quarried nature of it, allows the eye to be taken interestingly through the garden (click me to enlarge)
The existing Buddha is now framed and looks down the garden (click me to enlarge) The chippings are blended into the existing planting creating the illusion of heat and warmth (click me to enlarge)

From 2002

Our client was an ageing lady who no longer wanted the hassle of mowing the lawn. She wanted to replace it with something that reflected the heat of the garden (sun-trap) and had some interesting features.

We were able to gladly provide this through removing the lawn via a skip and laying the lawn areas to South Cerney gravel. It was decided to keep the concrete path due to it's stable nature. The gravel was edged by our favourite rock - Terracotta. The colour match was superb and a tonne of rock was more than enough to not only provide the edging desired, but also to create a little channel through to the Buddha and to provide three large pieces as a central feature.

This project took us two days to complete at a cost of under £700.
