Turtle Productions Ltd won the contract to install the EPDM liner for The Wave at its new, world-first inland surfing lake near Bristol.
This facility features a 180m long lake powered by Wavegarden Cove technology that produces perfect surfing waves, all year round, whatever the weather. It is suitable for all ages and abilities, from a child stepping on a board for the first time, to a pro surfer training for the Olympics.
Working for Andrew Scott Ltd, we were on-hand through the contract period to supply and install 20,000m2 of Holcim Elevate (Firestone) EPDM GeoGard liner as a catch membrane for this seventy-five-acre site, supplied to us by Gordon Low Products.
As this is the first project of its kind in the world and as we’re only 45 minutes from site, we were able to provide an on-demand service as this project progressed. The details of the wave-making technology for this project is top secret, so the images of our progress are limited, but hopefully give you a flavour of what we helped create.
